I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! It is hot hot hot here in Vancouver. I am sure the east coast is rolling their eyes at my last statement, but hey, most people don’t have air conditioners!!!
Summertime wouldn’t be complete without s’mores. We are going camping for the first time in a few weeks, so I thought these little DIY s’more boxes would be fun to bring along! They are so cute and really easy to make too.
Hi hope all of our Canadian and American friends had a good long weekend! Thank you to everyone who downloaded The Bubble Bomps - 3000 units were downloaded and we had a lot of positive feedback!
I will try to post as much as I can during the summer. Honestly, I think most bloggers are on vacation as well because it is hard to find quality posts!! Here is a great little recipe for orange and lemon play dough. The recipe is super easy and the best part is the play dough smells delicious!
This is the cutest little DIY project, in my opinion :) I love the little stick people! Next time you are out and about have the kiddies collect different pieces of nature that they can turn into art pieces!
Learn about feelings with this fun PBS video!
I am always looking for fun things to do with the kids in the summer, as well as activities that they can do on their own that will give me 20 minutes of peace :) Here is a cute little printable observation book that you could take on your next outing that will help your kids observe the world we live in.
If you haven’t noticed, we have taken the last few weeks off! Simon and I have been working so much we both needed a bit of a break. WeeFeel is our side business. With raising two kids, Simon’s full-time job working on the FIFA 2015 game, and my personal training business it has been super busy. Anyways, we are back and fully re-charged!
A few new things are happening this week. This Friday, June 27th our app will be free until July 6th!!!! We will also offer free Colouring sheets and fun activities for parents to download once a week during the summer months.
Now, down to business ;) I love this educational activity that was posted on playful learning. It is all about getting your kids to understand the concept of the books you read to them. I feel it is super important for kids to understand the words they read and the concepts behind the stories they read so they build a strong foundation of language. Take a look and let us know your thoughts!
Happy Friday & Chores - To Pay or not to Pay?!
I have posted a few chore boards on our blog and have asked the question, should you pay your children through an allowance to do chores? I was sitting on the fence with this question, until I came across a work for hire board - after your child has completed all of their normal chores for the day, they can earn money by doing extra little chores around the house! Research has shown that children who have to do chores have higher self-esteem, are more responsible, and are better able to deal with frustration. And lets face it, if you get your kids to vacuum their crap they dropped on the floor for a dollar, you are WINNING. Happy weekend!
Are You Ready for Summer??
The kids are out of school in two weeks - to all the parents out there, are you ready?! This year, since Jacob is almost 6, I have signed him up for a handful of soccer, swimming, and bike camps. We will also take a few small trips - one the Vancouver Island, and one up to Whistler. I also like to create traditions so the kids create fun family memories. Last year we tried the to do list and it worked like a charm! Sit down with the whole family and pick activities for each category that you will do throughout summer! It’s super fun and a great way to get the kids involved in choice making.
6 Fun School Crafts for Summer
Happy Wednesday! Here are 6 super fun summer crafts ideas that will keep your children learning throughout summer via one of my favourite crafts sites, Handmade Charlotte. Do you include educational activities throughout summer, or do you think it’s overkill and feel that kids need a break from school work?
